Kentuck Knob is a Usonian single-family house based on an equilateral triangle module measuring four-feet-six-inches per side. Unlike earlier Usonian houses, this one is highly customized. At the clients’ request, Wright increased the size of the living and dining areas and carefully crafted the house in native stone, tidewater cypress and copper. He laid a flagstone floor and set the walls with irregularly sized stones to create a more natural appearance. The similarities to nearby Fallingwater were deliberate; original owner I.N. Hagan had visited several times on business. In 1985 it was purchased by the current owner, who restored it after a fire and opened it as a house museum.
