Nichols House
Flossmoor, IL 1906
The Frederick D. Nichols House designed by Frank Lloyd Wright and built in1906 was a summer getaway where Nichols could enjoy uninterrupted golf. Later, the Evans family purchased & refashioned the structure to fit their family. The seller is the third owner & hired Thorpe & Assoc. of Oak Park to do the design, as you see the home today. It has a welcoming foyer that leads to the main floor, which opens on to the living room with shared family room. The Dining Room flows into the eat-in Kitchen. The main bedroom has in-suite bath, laundry and a home office. There are two additional bedrooms & baths. The paint colors of the home are in the chosen palette of Wright. Bookshelves lead to the lower level recreation room & is set up for school & play! Wrap around porch and perfectly landscaped yard – you can see the daffodils are popping up! Garage is original & once housed the chauffer & the family vehicle. Close to Metra & other local amenities. The pictures speak for themselves – there are so many fine architectural details to enjoy in this home.
